PRC Foreign Policy Internship at Stimson Center, Washington DC
DESCRIPTION
Stimson's East Asia program's research on PRC Foreign Policy closely examines the strategic thinking and practices of the People's Republic of China (PRC) toward the region and the world. Key issues include the making and evolution of Chinese foreign policy, U.S.-China relations, China's policy toward the Korean Peninsula, Japan and Southeast Asian nations.
DUTIES
Responsibilities for the East Asia: PRC Foreign Policy program intern include:
- Complete high quality research and editing tasks for program staff
- Write reports on seminars
- Assist in the coordination of program events
- Track developments regarding Chinese foreign relations, especially US-China relations, maritime disputes, and the interactions between China and regional players
QUALIFICATIONS
Generally, a strong candidate for this position will have:
- A strong interest in Chinese foreign policy and East Asian security/political issues
- An academic background in China studies
- Attention to detail and commitment to high quality work in both research and administrative tasks
- Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills
- A record of academic excellence
- Chinese language skills preferred but not required
